I have always had a weight problem. I ate out of frustration, stress, and when bored. I have tried for at least 20 years to lose weight. Of course when you go on diets, your weight goes down for a bit, but then rises to at least 5 pounds what you were before starting the diet. I felt depressed and would never go out to social events because I could never find anything to wear and just didn't feel comfortable in my own skin.
One day, I ran into Joy and saw how wonderful she looked. She offered to meet with me which was the best day of my life. What Joy presented was not a diet, but a new way of eating. I remember thinking to my self, well, if she can do it then so can I. I do feel it is important to know what triggers over eating. Now I had already tried "My Fitness Pal", but Joy gave me more information to guide my weight loss. I prayed that this would work and was highly motivated thinking this was my last chance to losing weight. Joy not only talked the talk, but she walked the walk. She was always there for me. I have kept the weight off for 3 years. I feel much better about myself and find that I go out a lot more with my husband and friends. Some weeks, I find it a little difficult maintaining, but I can always talk with Joy who seems to keep me on track. I know she has gone thru the same issues I am going thru. Hi, my name is Jim. I am the husband of Joy Beem, certified health coach. My journey started when Joy was nearing the end of her education. She needed a few practice clients to participate in her 90-day transformation program. I reluctantly agreed to listen to her once a week (for an hour) for twelve weeks. I am very fond of sugar, sweets, and every carb I have ever met. It is safe to say that she had no expectation of me leaning into a healthier version of myself, or did she? From week one I noticed small habit changes that built me up week after week. By the end of our 90-day transformation I had lost 26 pounds. I feel much better, and enjoy the little things such as bending over and tying my shoes with ease and I’m playing with our grandchildren. I’m glad that I have more energy to lead a healthy life.
